Exams and Competition
The students at the school have the opportunity to prepare for medal test exams each year. An examiner from the British Association of Teachers of Dance (B.A.T.D.) can visit our studio to evaluate the progress of the dancers. We offer exams in Highland, Scottish National, Theory Grades, Irish Jigs, and Sailor's Hornpipes. Some of our Honour students have been nominated to compete for a Highland dance scholarship offered by the B.A.T.D.
Students also have the opportunity to prepare for the many Highland dance competitions and Highland Games offered locally, across the province, nationally and internationally. Students also have the opportunity to learn fun choreographed dances for competition or performances. Our students have had the experience, and success, competing across Canada, the United States and Scotland. We are proud to say that may of our dancers have won trophies, Pre-Championships and Championships throughout Canada, the US and Scotland.
